Ft. Desoto, Bay Pier

Another hot and humid day in Paradise. There was not a wisp of a breeze at Ft. Desoto which is very rare. The hardy group did the whole works, some did almost all and the social group did about half of the trail at Ft. Desoto. Linda skated with us for the first time. Welcome Linda. Bob F., Willie, Dave and Cindy bladed with us the for the first time in quite awhile. Welcome back. Kim's Joel joined us and might even skate more often with us. Welcome Joel. Darlene B. came with her dog in training and had brunch with us. Welcome Darlene. This week we had Mark & Carole, Dennis & Ellen, Roy and Rob renew their web site Sponsorship. Thanks bladers for your vital continued support. We brunched at Ship Side Cafe as planned. They did a good job of taking care of all 16 of us. Rob gave them an 8. Our swimming pool outing died on the vine. Instead several of us attended the prize awarding ceremonies of the Worlds Largest Spearfishing Tournament, the St. Pete Open held at Tierra Verde. There we met Lou and John S. They had some interesting stories about mid Florida but their only comment on the diving was they dove on the East coast and got back safely.
