Ft. Desoto, Bay Pier

Another beautiful day in Paradise. The weather was perfect for skating. It was cool and overcast with a light breeze out of the NE. We bladed in three groups. The fast group of which Deb B led with her bright new skates with 100 mm wheels. There was a middle group which formed after Deb kept up too fast a pace for a few and the finally the social group which grew bigger as the skate progressed. Scott and Willi joined us again. Welcome back Scott and Willi. Chris renewed her Sponsorship. Thanks Chris. Steve G. reported his knee is better but not quit ready for skating.

Jeff B & Birgit did the Saturday night BJ skate. The Sunshine Skyway trail has been resurfaced and was great. Thinking about changing the 29 October skate to be a Sunshine Skyway trail skate from Maximo Park. We haven't done this skate since June 1998.

We Brunched at Ship Side as planned. They were really busy when we got there and we had to wait 5-10 minutes to get seated. We sat at one big table and the last 3 in sat in a booth. As happens a lot of times, the 3 in the booth were done eating before the big table got served. Even with the wait all were done eating and out in an hour. Rob rated his brunch a 9 but Karin rated her Eggs Benedict a 5. Also heard an 8 and an 8.5.
