Curlew Rd & Alt 19 on the
Trail
As Bruce would
have said if he hadn’t been diving in Rainbow
Springs, “another beautiful day in paradise.” Weather was a
little touch and go in the north part of the Pinellas Trail
but appeared to be clearing. Everyone met at Publix at
Curlew Road and the roads were dry with the sun peeping
through. Tom and Kim joined us
as well as some absentee
skaters…Willie and Suzanne (happy to see them
both after their absence). Bill
Burns, another accomplished skater,
joined us. Bill hasn’t
skated with the Sunday Bladers for a few years…welcome back
Bill!
Most of the group started out by skating out to Honeymoon
Island and back, then headed north on the Pinellas Trail. We
skated about a total of 8 miles
as the north part of the trail was still pretty wet. A few
did not skate the causeway to Honeymoon Island, but opted to
skate the trail only. We brunched at Benedict’s with some
skaters showing up later. Service from our waitress was a
little slow at first with Sherrie assisting by pouring
everyone another round of coffee. However, we found our
waitress to have a great sense of humor in spite of the way
we kidded and generally hasseled her!
Rob rated his brunch a 9.
Thanks to Sandra P. and Glenn R.
for the write up and photos in Bruce's absence !!.
