Great EsSkate 2011

The 2011 Great EsSkate was another wonderful and fun time in South Beach/Miami. The temperature was in the 70s and 80s and as good as anyone could wish for. Gene Cook had everything under control as usual. All events flowed smoothly and were fun and exciting to attend. The main skating events were all police escorted. I counted 11 police cars blocking traffic for us and one policeman skating with us. It's still mind boggling to skate through a red traffic light with cars backed up for as far as one could see. Just an an awesome and wonderful feeling to experience. The Friday night, Saturday and Sunday main skates added up to about 55 miles. Add in the other skates and you could do over a 100 miles skating in the 3 days. Thanks again Gene Cook and crew for a wonderful, fun and social weekend. We had lots of picture takers and Carlos, Claudia, Dee, Barbara and others have posted 100s of pictures on Facebook. Carlos supplied the group picture which I added a few missing people to.
